Man wanted on Canada-wide arrest warrant arrested in Red Deer

A 40-year-old Red Deer man wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant has been arrested.
On March 6, the man was located in a residence near 58 Street and 60 Avenue, and arrested by the Alberta RCMP Community Response Team, with assistance from the Red Deer Crime Reduction Team, Red Deer RCMP, K Division Police Dog Services and the K Division Emergency Response Team. A 24-year-old Edmonton woman was also arrested.
Police seized 54 grams of methamphetamine, six grams of fentanyl, $1,105 in cash, an extendable baton, two BB guns and stolen mail.
Both are charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The man is additionally charged with being unlawfully at large. The woman has also been charged with four counts of failing to comply with a release order.
The two were held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody. They are set to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on March 12.
