Tornado watch issued for Wetaskiwin

Environment Canada has issued a Tornado watch for Wetaskiwin.

The agency announced on its website on June 3 that "conditions are favourable for the development of funnel clouds and possibly brief, weak tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible. The potential for tornadoes will exist until early (Monday) evening."

The watch is in place for Leduc, Camrose and Tofield. 

Environment Canada is also calling for a ‘severe risk’ of thunderstorms early this evening until midnight.

There will also be a 60 per cent chance of a shower later tonight, the agency said.
