Summer is here — and so are the City of Red Deer's pop-up neighbourhood spray parks and Rip 'n Rec passes.

Despite a slow lead-in to summer heat, temperatures are soon expected to rise. That means the city's Beat the Heat pop-up spray parks are once again returning to a neighbourhood near you.

Red Deer Emergency Services crews will use fire engines to create temporary spray parks every Thursday evening throughout July and August.

They will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the following locations: July 4 in Ironstone Neighbourhood Park (70 Inglewood Dr); July 11 at Ecole Oriole Park School (5 Oldbury St); July 18 at Fairview School Park (5901 55 St); July 25 at Dawson Park (140 Davison Dr); Aug. 1 at St. Elizabeth Seton School Park (35 Addinell Ave); Aug. 8 at Kentwood Disc Golf Park (168 Kendrew Dr); Aug. 15 at Joseph Welsh School Park (4401 37 Ave); And on Aug. 22 at Father Henri Voisin School Park (60 Clearview Dr).

Municipal Policing Services and Red Deer RCMP will also offer police vehicle tours at these sites. And local partners from Red Deer Child Care Society, Red Deer Food Bank, Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre and community associations will be providing kids with fun activities and treats.

Pop-up Spray Park events are weather dependent, so please check The City’s social media for updates. For more information, visit reddeer.ca/popupsprayparks.
