No one was injured following a garage fire early Sunday morning in Red Deer.

Just after 3 a.m., Red Deer Emergency Services was informed of the reported garage fire in the city’s Deer Park neighbourhood.

“We had three engines and a ladder truck respond,” said deputy chief Chris Kearns.

“The garage was fairly full of smoke – there was a lot of smoke in the air.”

The blaze was “quickly extinguished,” Kearns noted.

“There were two vehicles in the garage. Neither were damaged, so that was good,” he said.

“There was some damage to the garage. It was more along the ceiling and the attic from my understanding.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
