Innisfail golfer Jace Ouellette turned in a steady performance at the 2024 Alberta Men's Amateur Championships and will represent the province on the national stage.

Ouellette shot two-under-par and finished fourth at the 54-hole provincial amateur championship at The Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton, which concluded Friday. Ouellete opened the tournament with a two-over 72, before firing a 67 in round two.

He finished the tournament with a 69, good for fourth place and a spot on Alberta's Interprovincial team, which will play from Aug. 3-8 at the 119th Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship in Saskatoon.

Red Deer's Cole Bergheim finished just behind Ouellette in a tie for fifth with an even-par 54-hole total.

Calgary's Brett Jones, 17, won the event on the third playoff hole over 2023 Alberta Men’s Mid-Amateur Champion Barrett Jarosch. Jones and Jarosch were tied at six-under after 54 holes, before Jones made par on the third playoff hole to capture the victory.
