Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce’s Homelessness Task Force will share its recommendations on how to address the challeng in Red Deer at a breakfast event on April 2.

Last March the chamber announced its intention to launch a task force after Red Deer’s Point in Time Report on homelessness showed the city’s homeless population had jumped by almost 140 per cent in five years.

Chaired by local community leader and business owner Lyn Radford, and made up of local business owners and leaders, the task force has listened to organizations and individuals and researched to better understand the homelessness situation in Red Deer for its “What We Heard” report.

An interim report was released in late January to gather public feedback.

Next week Radford and chamber CEO Scott Robinson share a summary of the task force’s findings, insights gathered, and recommendations for addressing homelessness.
