The Sylvan Lake Gulls have been rolling as of late.

On Tuesday night in Medicine Hat, they won their seventh consecutive game with a 6-4 victory over the Mavericks at Athletic Park.

Sylvan Lake's last loss came against the Okotoks Dawgs on June June 25 and since then have swept the Brooks Bombers, Weyburn Beavers, and Lethbridge Bulls.

In their victory over the Mavericks, the two teams entered the eighth inning tied 4-4 but the Oakville, Ontario's Elijah Hammill hit a two-run home run to give the Gulls the lead and the victory.

Gulls third baseman Kenneth Rhein from Arizona also had a big night at the plate with two RBIs. First baseman Reese Harmon from Indiana also brought home a run for the Gulls.

With the win, the Gulls improved to 23-7 in the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) standings and are now half a game back from the Okotoks Dawgs for first place in the West Division.

The Gulls will be back in action on Thursday when they host the Fort McMurray Giants in Sylvan Lake at 7:05 p.m. The game kicks off a three-game series between the two clubs that will continue on Friday and Saturday evening.

They'll wrap up the weekend with a game on Sunday in Brooks against the Bombers at 2:05 p.m. at Elks Stadium.
