The Red Deer Rebels released their schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 Western Hockey League regular season.
The Rebels season begins with the Red Deer Advocate home opener on Saturday, Sept. 21 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes at 7 p.m. The organization will play its first road game in Medicine Hat less than a week later on Friday, Sept. 27 against the Tigers at 7 p.m.
This season all home games at the Peavey Mart Centrium will begin at 7 p.m. except for a matchup with the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 19 when they host the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Family Day at 2 p.m.
This year the Central Division will feature only Alberta-based teams for the first time after the departure of the Swift Current Broncos to the East Division.
The Red Deer Rebels, Calgary Hitmen, Medicine Hat Tigers, Lethbridge Hurricanes, and Edmonton Oil Kings will form the new-look Central Division. Red Deer will play each of them eight times this season.
Red Deer will also head out on their U.S. Division road trip beginning on Friday, Nov. 8 when they visit the Wenatchee Wild. They'll continue their trip with games against the Tri-City Americans on Nov. 9, Everett Silvertips on Nov. 11, Seattle Thunderbirds on Nov. 12, Portland Winterhawks on Nov. 15, and Spokane Chiefs on Nov. 16.
The teams in the BC Division will also make their way to the Centrium starting with the Vancouver Giants on Oct. 7. The Victoria Royals come into town on Nov. 23 followed by the Prince George Cougars on Nov. 29, Kamloops Blazers on Dec. 14, and Kelowna Rockets on March 1.
Before that, the Rebels will play four preseason games beginning on Friday, Sept. 6 against the Calgary Hitmen at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex. After that, they'll host the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Centrium.
They'll welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers to town on Friday. Sept. 13 followed by a matchup with the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sat. Sept. 14 in Morinville.
