Red Deer Titans senior men dominate in win over Lethbridge

The Titans senior men's team improves to 2-2 after a win at home

The Red Deer Titans senior men's home-field advantage has served them well this season.

Through four games in the Calgary Rugby Union men's development league, the Titans have won both games at home to improve to 2-2.

Despite rainy conditions on Saturday afternoon, the Titans crushed the Lethbridge Rugby Football Club 29-5 at Titans Field.

Titans coach Sean Tindall said his team did exactly what they set out to do.

"We did everything the way we wanted to do at training and I'm really happy with how it turned out. The boys did well," he said.

"There's been some ups and downs this season. We've had some people away working and it's been tough to get everyone in the same place at the same time."

Typically, he said they field a solid team but often don't have enough bench players to support the rest of the team. This has resulted in a few losses on the road but thankfully they've been successful at home.

"It'll be enough to get us through the playoffs but we just need to develop some depth and get some young guys from our youth programs to stick around and play men's," he said.

"A lot of young kids grow up in Red Deer and move away. Sometimes we have to wait it out but we've got a good group of core players here. We have the best facility in central Alberta and there's some good rugby to be played as we saw today."
